Budva is a pretty compact resort city, but its various areas are fundamentally different from each other in many important factors for a good holiday.
Some areas of the city are well suited for lovers of beach parties, some for a quiet family holiday with young children, and in some areas tourists are fond of walking on mountain slopes. Some districts of the city are named after the main sights of Budva: the Old Town, the Podmaine monastery, the Vidikovac fortress.

The quietest area in Budva is Podkosljun district, since it is located far from the Old Town (on the opposite side). And housing prices here are slightly lower than in other areas directly adjacent to the sea. In Podkosljun there are beaches that are perfect for a relaxing holiday. If you are a fan of a quiet, measured rest, it is better to ask the landlord in advance about the presence of a number of establishments with a night work schedule. Podkosljun district is inconvenient for those tourists whose rest is associated with frequent independent excursion walks, as it is far from the bus station.
Two districts of Budva, Rozino and Dubovica, are located near the bus station. It is quite cozy and well developed urban infrastructure - shops, cafes, the road to the sea without ascents. The Gospostina district is adjacent to the historical part of the city, and also has a well-developed infrastructure and is famous for having a large number of green spaces.
Perhaps you are not interested in a beach holiday, and you prefer the mountain landscape and silence? Then you can look at distant areas of Budva - Lazi, Babin Do, Podmaine and Vidikovac. There are gorgeous panoramic views. But the descent to the sea (and the reverse ascent) takes a lot of time and effort.

But in almost any area you will always find where you can drink coffee and have a snack in a cozy cafe, as well as to taste Montenegrin cuisine in local restaurant. Districts in Budva are quite different, and it depends on your desire where and how you want to spend your vacation. And to have a trip around Montenegro more vivid and memorable, it is better to rent a car, therefore you will not be tied of one city and the beach!
