In the depths of the Balkan Mountains of Crmnica in the village of Limljani, surrounded by rich nature, Klisic Vinaria is located – one of the best wineries in Montenegro.
For many years the winery has preserved the traditions of Montenegrin winemaking and embodies them in an exquisite Balkan wine.
Klisic Vinaria is a continuation of centuries-old traditions and vast experience in growing the best grape varieties and produces fine wines in Montenegro. In search of information about the origins of the development of viticulture in Montenegro, it is revealed that it was more intensively developed at first in the areas of Kotor and Tivat in the XIV century, and in the XV century it spreaded to the territories of Rijeka Crnojevica, Brajici, Godinje.
In the Klisic winery, grapes are harvested from their own vineyards located in Crmnica, in the village of Limljani, in the area that stretches from Skadar Lake to the Adriatic Sea. Vineyard plantations are located at an altitude of three hundred meters above sea level in an ecologically clean area. The best grape varieties: Vranac, Kratosija, Cabernet, Lisicina and Muscat Bielij grown here. Love for the traditions of winemaking is visible even in the interior of this beautiful winery. The combination of fine wines, food and atmosphere is absolutely must see.
Klisić wine cellars are the family traditions of several generations of famous winegrowers and winemakers. Traditional methods of growing and processing grapes are a pure home product, and the number of bottles produced is strictly controlled and limited. As a result, we get high-quality wines and brandy. The Klisić winery produces Montenegrin Vines, Rose Limelane, white wine La Beccaccia, Cabernet Sauvignon, sweet red wine Crmnička Slast, Vranac Sveti Tom and Barrique Sveti Tom wine.
The history of the successful development of winemaking in Montenegro is confirmed by the multiple presentation of wines at the international level. The best quality wines were recognized by Crmnic in 1905 in London, from the cooperative Crmnicka vinogradarska in Virpazar region. Here, until 1970, a vineyard was grown in the Kemovsko field, and until 1982, 11 million vines were planted, which now allows the plantations to be the leader in the region. Winemaker Ilia Klisic can boasts many awards at festivals, both in the country and abroad.
Every year at «the Wine and Bleak» festivals, VINARIJA KLISIĆ presents its best wines not only for trade, but also for participating in competitions for the best winemaker. The Klisic Winery won the gold medal in the red wine category of 2018 festival.
